As always, summer flew by way to quickly.  I have been busy getting back into the school mindset, which is difficult after an amazing summer of adventures such as a family trip to Iceland and an overnight kayaking trip through the Grasslands of Saskatchewan.

So, my post today is going to be random.  I have done some pretty cool things these last few days, and I don’t want to forget to mention them!

We found a Rattler snake in our yard, which is very unusual. We called the conservation officer and my husband relocated it. Phew!!

We went to a cousin's surprise 50th b-day. She hates gnomes, but better get used to them! It was great to see everyone.

I'm going into week 3 of exercising every day! Eek! The support group is great. This is one of the challenges I had to do. I was in the middle of a road trip, so John pulled over for me to do my awkward squats.

My little sister is now a teacher in my division, so we got to spend opening day and convention together! Greg Johnson, the Tornado Hunter, spoke. I love to see people following their dreams!

Jeffery Straker, a talented song writer and piano player, played a house party in town. The stories behind his songs were very entertaining!

I played tour guide for Jeffery and Brodie the next day. I still love seeing people's faces as they discover the Great Sandhills for the 1st time.

So, that’s been my last 2 weeks.  I hope everyone had a super summer and was able to do some exploring.  I am not sure what adventure is coming up next for me, but I will let you know!

  1. Don’t think much of finding a rattle snake in the yard. At least the conservation crew took care of it. I once had a python in my yard (when I lived in Auz). They wouldn’t come out and collect it. Told me not to worry because after it ate all the mice in the area, it’d go to someone else’s back yard.
