After a fun day of shopping, food, drinks, and a little gambling ( read about that here), I got up the next day ready to head to the Swift Current Airport for the last day of their drag races.

I wouldn’t say I am a car enthusiast, but the more events I get to, the more I see value in these hobbies. Car shows and drag races are such a nice way to get out, meet people, and enjoy a family friendly event.

I was surprised to see kids driving these really neat go-cart type vehicles. If that sentence didn’t give away my lack of knowledge on cars, I don’t know what will. But, I didn’t have to be a pro to enjoy the atmosphere. Kids, families, couples, picnic blankets, food trucks, friends, and of course, races!

The bright colored vehicles always caught my attention and I enjoyed finding different angles to capture the spirit of the day. The traffic light count down, the guy motioning with his arms, the water boy hosing the pavement, the quads zipping to the end of the track to haul back the go-carts. Everyone was involved and smiling. Even the guys deep under the hoods of their cars were happy and ready to chat. Check out my Instagram Reel.

I found out about this drag racing event, put on by Swift Current Drag Racing Association, by visiting Tourism Swift Current’s event calendar. There is a lot happening in this small city, so make sure you check their site once in a while.

Thanks again to Tourism Swift Current for having me out!

I'd love to hear from you:)
