One year of blogging!! Almost. That’s the longest I have stuck to anything. ( Other than my marriage!)
I started Cruisin Christine on New Years last year. My mind was not at a happy place, as we had family issues that were causing a lot of stress. I knew that I needed something to take my mind of off things.
I started by telling some of my previous travel stories:

I touched on parenting:

Even posted a few of my poems:

My goal of getting off the couch and doing something for myself was working. People were giving very positive feedback, I joined the Leader Tourism board and started using social media to showcase our community.
I was invited on tour of Cypress Hills as a member of Leader Tourism and made more connections.

I also attended a tourism convention where I met Cheryl from Southern Prairie Railway. She invited me to go to Ogema, Sk, to see what their train ride was all about.

In July, my sisters and had our first ever sister’s trip! We went to Gravelbourg, Thompson Lake, and Moose Jaw. We had a blast exploring close to home and acting like tourists.

A bomb got dropped on our family shortly after this and I had to pull up even more power to stay positive. We reached out to friends and family for support and started a go fund me account to help put an end to the unfairness being cast upon us. This was the best thing we could do, as people started to understand why we hadn’t been ourselves lately.
Things are not solved yet, but we are in the process. Having the support of loved ones has meant the world.
This support worked in our favour, as we brought our (step)kids home for August! As always, we had a summer full of love and laughter. We spent time exploring places near our farm.
In September, I started dappling in the idea of making videos. I took a few risks and even though they didn’t work out, I became motivated to learn more about Windows Live Movie Maker. School, family, totalling my truck, and water pump issues continued to test me and make me stronger.
All in all, it was a great year. I am proud of what I have accomplished and I look forward to developing my skills as a videographer. Ha! I plan on donating time to Leader Tourism by making videos of the area’s attractions and business’. As my abilities grow, I know more opportunities will arise.

In closing, find time to spend with friends and family over the holiday season. This past week has brought heartache and devastation to a few people near and dear to me.
Live life while you can. Don’t be petty. Tell the truth. Share what you have.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, my family, and my blog.
Happy New Years!
