As I sit here watching reality TV, I figured I should do something productive! So, I’m attempting to write my first blog post from my cell phone.
Yesterday, I went to Maple Creek and Cypress Hills. After some awesome thrift store finds, I headed to the Hills for some exploring. Being a Tuesday, during working hours, in March, I pretty much had the whole place to myself.
I then went for a Ceasar (home made dill pickle vodka! ) at the Commercial Hotel while I waited for the Spring Forum to start.
This is the second forum I have attended. Cypress Hills Destination Area continues to amaze me. As a member of our local tourism board in Leader, I just want to soak up all of the knowledge I can. The Destination Area continues to expand, with new members realizing that working together makes each business stronger.
We were entertained by Trevor Moore, a magician / comedian out of Medicine Hat.
We also listened to a presentation about the National Film Board’s Grasslands Project.
It was great to reconnect with people and to set up plans for future adventures! Stay tuned!
A packed day! I visited the Saskatchewan side of Cypress Hills mid-summer and I had it almost to myself too!

It was busy! I also spent the morning getting footage for a video I’m presenting about Leader, Sask. It’s a fun busy, though! Cypress is a beautiful area.
