There’s a new business in town!

Soothing the Soul has opened in Leader, Saskatchewan, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

As many new businesses do, it started with a dream, then squeezed into a spare room in a house, then found a public space to run out of.

Lacy Strutt started her energy healing and yoga practice as a Young Living side gig. From there, she became certified in Reiki, Access Bars, and as a yoga teacher.  As a fellow woman seeking a non-traditional work and lifestyle, her determination has been inspiring me for a while.

My sister and I have both signed up for an 8 week Yoga class for strength and flexibility. Lacy not only leads in person classes, but as a part of this 8 week program, she creates online challenges focused around personal growth and mindset.

Something I really love is that Lacy is offering yoga classes for children as well as teens. Yes, I will continue to enjoy my adult only classes, but I think it is fantastic that all ages can take part.  I know lots of moms are enjoying class alongside their children.

As a part of my winter wellness series, Soothing the Soul sponsored a Reiki session. For an hour, I relaxed on the “massage” table and let her work her magic.  My lower back was particularly sore and I expected it to be for a good 5 to 7 days, but after this treatment, I really felt better.  The next morning, I felt no pain!

Some Reiki practitioners use no touch, and some use soft hand placements. This was the first time I had Reiki with touch, and it was nice.

Reiki uses a universal energy that is transferred through the palms of the practitioner. It is another one of those things that you have to experience to believe.  In past Reiki sessions, I’ve been told there were energy blocks in certain chakras, usually ones I knew were out of whack.  This was the first time I believe that my physical body felt improvement that was much needed.

Please ignore the ugly socks!

I’m looking forward to continuing my Yoga sessions and am thankful that Leader has more options for wellness.

Thanks, Lacy!

  1. I find Reiki fascinating. No concept how it works but it seems to.
Ha — socks be socks. Not to worry!
Enjoy your classes. My friend who has a yoga studio in Medicine Hat does a lot of teenage ones and guy ones as well.
