So, I had a long post written up describing the guest house and telling you the facts and about how much I enjoyed it, but it all seemed too scripted.
Honestly, just treat yourself to a few days away and you won’t be disappointed.
( This stay was gifted by the owner, but I assure you, my opinions are real!)
The Buffalo Trail Guest House was just what I needed; a place to relax, reflect, and just be.
Sitting on the side of a hill overlooking Elkwater Lake, the location of this property couldn’t have been any more perfect. Within minutes of arriving I was texting my closest girlfriends and telling them that we had to book a girl’s getaway.
With a separate entrance to the top level of the house, this Air BnB has 2 bedrooms, and full kitchen, dining, and living room areas. There is a large balcony, a bathtub to soak in, and even laundry.
Being just a couple of minutes from Elkwater, there are a million things to keep visitors entertained. The Alberta side of Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park has a few different lakes, many hiking trails, a beach, and more, but my body was telling me to take a break.
I felt a bit bad for not spending more time exploring the area, but I was just so content to treat myself to Netflix, enjoy the nicely decorated and very clean house, and sip on my wine while gazing out the huge picture window . I did climb the hill in the back yard to find the red chairs. With 360 degree views, it was definitely worth it!
I spent 2 nights at the Buffalo Trail Guest House and I know I will be back again.
Bill was very friendly, popping in to say hi and explaining that he’d be gone most of the day. He took me on a tour of the property and we realized that we had been at some of the same events in the past.
He has only had this property for 2 years and I just couldn’t get over how lucky he was to have the opportunity to buy such a perfect piece of land. I’m thankful he decided to share his oasis with visitors!
