Toot! Toot! All Aboard!
This past week I was lucky enough to go for my second ride aboard the Southern Prairie Railway, in Ogema, Saskatchewan.
Just like last time, I was in for a treat!
Not only was I going for a prairie train adventure, but I’d be joined by a group of travel bloggers, including Robin Esrock!!!!!
For years I spent Sunday mornings watching the travel show “Word Travels” that he hosted, and I’ve been following his recent adventures as he writes his new series, “The Great Canadian Bucket List.”
As we picnicked around the table and got ready to board, I was happy to realize a whole group of bloggers who I have gotten to know and respect online were joining us. What a boost of self-esteem to know that I was invited along with this group of talented people.
What is a train ride like with a group of bloggers?
Cameras snapping, fingers typing, microphones recording…and the odd pencil writing!
As we listened to Cheryl tell stories of the past, I couldn’t help but dream of the future. Being surrounded by people who have followed their dreams and who work hard to get where they are was nothing but inspiring.
As we stopped to battle an unexpected grass fire, I reminded myself that there are always bumps along the road, but by being prepared and working together, we can overcome anything.
What is an adventure without the unexpected?
